1. Master the Formula Sheet and Definitions
Many students mistakenly believe that Physics at A Level is purely calculation-focused. In reality, up to 30% of marks in Cambridge (9702) and Edexcel (WPH11) come from precise definitions, stating physical laws, and quality of written explanation.
The Golden Rules:
- Memorise official syllabus definitions word-for-word: e.g., Simple Harmonic Motion, Electric Potential, De Broglie Wavelength.
- Annotate examiner reports: Learn the specific phrases that awarded or forfeited method marks in past exam series.
- Units and significant figures: Always retain at least 3 significant figures unless an exact fraction is requested.
2. The 3-Tier Past Paper System
- Topic-by-Topic Drill: Solve all past questions on a topic immediately after completing the lecture module.
- Timed Paper Walkthroughs: Sit full papers under timed, exam conditions.
- Post-Mortem Error Log: Review every single lost mark, write down the reason (careless error, formula gap, or explanation phrasing), and revisit it before the next mock test.
